WCPOS Preliminary Programme

World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus 12–13 September 2009 During the XXVII Congress of the ESCRS CCIB Congress Centre, Barcelona, Spain Preliminary Programme

Dear Colleagues, We are very pleased to extend an invitation to you to attend the first World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus in Barcelona, Spain on 12 and 13 September, 2009 during the XXVII Congress of the ESCRS. We would like to thank the ESCRS for their support. WCPOS will be the first truly international congress with a focus on paediatric ophthalmology. We have developed an excellent scientific programme that is directed at ophthalmic surgeons working with children and paediatric ophthalmologists who work exclusively with children. Over 200 international colleagues have been invited to present on a wide variety of topics in over 25 sessions. Free paper presentations, electronic posters and videos will complete the programme. We are very pleased that the keynote addresses will be given by our eminent colleagues Jack Kanski and Ken Wright. WCPOS is being held during the annual Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and one of the highlights of the meeting will be a joint Symposium with ESCRS. This Symposium will highlight how paediatric surgical techniques have improved over the last ten years. The meeting will be accompanied by an extensive industry exhibition. We very much hope you will come to the beautiful city of Barcelona and join us for this exciting and ground–breaking Congress.
